The Motability Scheme enables disabled people to use their government-funded mobility allowances to obtain a car.

What is Motability?

Motability is a UK charity that enables anyone who's eligible for a higher rate mobility allowance to lease a brand-new car, with insurance, maintenance and breakdown cover all included.

Am I eligible for Motability?

There are four types of mobility payments that are eligible to use all or part of their allowance to lease a vehicle through Motability.

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
  • Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
  • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

If you receive one of these it's highly likely that you're eligible for Motability.

How does the scheme work?

The Motability Scheme is designed to be straight-forward and stress-free. You simply lease the vehicle, paying for it out of your mobility allowance.

Choose your vehicle

Find the right car, scooter, powered wheelchair or wheelchair accessible vehicle for you.

Setup through your local dealer

Your local dealer will do almost all the work for you, taking you through the setup process once you've chosen your vehicle.

Payments are deducted automatically

Payments are deducted directly from your mobility allowance every four weeks so you never need to worry about it.
